You need to use the links on your confirmation email to go to the CLIENT ZONE and create a log in. The first time you log in you will use the certificate number and the primary insured's date of birth. Then a menu will give you an option to print a VISA LETTER.

If you want our help with this, we need:
Primary insured's name and date of birth Certificate number password to the client zone if you have created one. Also, if you did not include your wife's passport number on the application and you want it printed on the letter, you must provide us that information as well (the passport number).

As a US citizen, since you do not need a visa for a stay of less than 90 days, you do not need insurance purely for the Schengen visa purpose. However it is prudent to buy health insurance unless your domestic US health plan provides adequate coverage while outside the US. If however you are staying in Europe for more than 90- days, you will need the Europe long stay visa and therefore the Schengen visa insurance for that.

On medical health insurance page requirement for Schengen visa, it says the amount must be spelled out or it must say unlimited, the sum has to be split equally between the different benefits(eg, $25,000 for medical treatment, $25,000 of medical evacuation and repatriation. You should have received a confirmation email from WorldTrips after your purchase is complete. Check your spam if the email is not in your inbox. There is a hyperlink in that email using which you can download all relevant documents including a visa letter for the consulate.
Regarding your questions:

"This insurance coverage, offered by WorldTrips, does not meet the minimum standards required by the health care reform law. The above paragraph means that not all of the requirements required by health reform law are applicable to this insurance policy. For example the Law says to cover pre existing conditions, but the plan does not cover it. It might cover only the acute onset until certain age.
The deductible amount of $250 is the amount that you the customer has to pay in case you incur an expense after which the insurance company will take over and cover the remaining eligible expense.

I am trying to buy the Atlas Travel Insurance policy for my trip to Europe. However, I get to a notice which says something like "if you are physically in the state of NY, you cannot purchase the policy online". What does that mean? Can I buy the policy?

Since you have put in a NY address on your application, you are being asked this question. The regulation of insurance is left up to each state of the United States, so each one has different laws and regulations. While this is not necessarily an issue for you as a consumer, it makes things extraordinarily tedious for insurance companies who want to sell insurance in every state and have their customers covered in every state. This is why you will not be able to buy this policy if you are physically in the state of New York, so you have two options. Option 1: Physically go to a different state (or ask a friend or relative in a different state) to buy the policy OR, Option 2: choose a different policy which still meets the requirements for your trip. In order to obtain a Schengen visa, very specific coverage is required which must be confirmed either in the policy or in a letter. The coverage required is: * Travel/health/accident insurance with minimum medical coverage of the equivalent of Euro 30.000,00. (Applicants must present insurance policy stating policy number, name of insured, validity and schedule benefits).
* It must have the wording that he is covered for the Schengen States, and covered for Emergency medical expenses, evacuation, repatriation or transportation.
