      Hop! Assist: How to handle claims:
    • HOP! Plans use United Health Care, and members can find providers near them by clicking on the given link and searching by their zip code. The paragraph also explains how to access guaranteed cashless claims through Robin Assist.
    • When a member becomes symptomatic, they can message the Robin Assist team through WhatsApp, phone, or email, and they will be put in touch with a nurse practitioner who can provide immediate consultation over the phone. If it is a life-threatening emergency, the member will be directed to the nearest hospital, and Robin Assist will contact the hospital and provide their eligibility and coverage details on behalf of the member

      Non-life threatening conditions caused by pre-existing conditions:

    • Covered if the symptoms are acute for example:
      1. Chest pain requires some doctor consultation at urgent care due to high BP
      2. Sugar levels are low causing fatigue due to diabetic condition, requiring urgent care visit
    • What is not covered?:
      1. Planned surgeries which are NOT life and death fr example- heart surgery or gallbladder stone removal
      2. In this situation- if not ER we will offer to pay for flight rebooking back home
    • On-going treatment and routine appoints not covered

      Life threatening conditions caused by pre-existing conditions:

    • Must be reported within 48 hour
    • Covered for all procedures / treatments until the patient is stabilized:
      1. Stabilized means the patient is able to leave the hospital
      2. Plan is designed to cover 1-2 maximum specialist visits after stabilization for emergencies
      3. Follow up appointments on an ongoing basis are not covered

Note: Hop! requires members to contact Hop Assist within certain times to access benefits. Non-Life-Threatening Medical Assistance requires notification within 7 days of first symptom. Life-threatening Medical Assistance need to be reported within 48 hours of first symptom. Travel Assistance requires notification within 24 hours of the incident.

02. Does INF insurance cover medical tourism?

INF insurance will not cover visitors to US if they are already sick, if a traveller is already in the hospital, expecting to use the insurance, if travelers have scheduled medical procedures, or if travelers are seeking on-going treatment.

If a visitor proceeds to do any of the preceding, it may result in the cancellation of coverage, full refund of the amount paid, and all claims denied. INF has a 5 day waiting period for new sickness / pre-existing coverage if the traveler has already arrived in the United States.
