International students often purchase their health insurance in the University. While this is most popular and convenient, it is often expensive. The best travel insurance for students studying abroad plans offered on our website are cheaper and provide comparable coverage. You can compare the plans that we offer by getting quotes which also shows the coverage details. We can facilitate getting the insurance waiver form completed if required by your college.
These study abroad health insurance plans are also available for international students with M1 Visa taking part in vocational or technical training.
Yes. Dependents (spouse and/or child under age 18) of enrolled students may apply for F2 visa insurance with the student, or within 31 days of birth, legal adoption, marriage or arrival in country of study. If your dependents are not eligible for Student insurance, they may enroll in one of our other plans for people outside their home country.
Also Patriot Exchange student insurance by IMG is an excellent health insurance for F1 & F2 visa holders. It is ideal because Patriot Exchange can be purchased by the F2 dependent visa holder even if the F1 student is not part of the same Patriot exchange plan, as long as he or she is covered by another plan offered by the school or educational institution
As long as the pediatric visits are for any new sickness or injury, they are covered but routine checkups, vaccinations/immunizations are not covered.
Patriot Exchange plan is available for F1 and F2 Visa holders too. It is one of the few plans that allows J2 visa holders to buy the plan when the J1 visa holder is not enrolled in the Patriot Exchange plan as a result it is highlighted in the policy brochure.
Atlas America will not cover pregnancy. However once the child is born you may cover the baby by filling in an additional form, we can help you with this when the time comes.
Students and scholars on F or J visas have the best student insurance coverage for maternity coverage. However, the benefits have been reduced a few years ago such that the best coverage is 80% coverage of costs, so the students will have to be aware that they will be responsible for a portion of all costs. Also note that unless their wife is the J1 visa holder they will have to be the primary on the policy and the wife (with J2) will be secondary. Also note that prices are DIFFERENT for the primary and the spouse, so when students quote the prices, quote them for two people at the same time since the cost will be MUCH HIGHER for the wife's coverage.
There are five policies that cover maternity at an 80% coverage without a set limit on benefits. Here is the list in order of their approximate cost. Note that conception has to occur after the start of the plan and most plans ask that students must let them know at least three months before the delivery date.
