Hi,
I have been trying to buy a Plan J policy for my mother in lowa since yesterday and the page open saying..."The HTM has invalid parameters"
Thanks,
Jorge
Dear Jorge,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your J1 Visa health insurance needs!. I am sorry you are having an issue with your online purchase. Obviously, the insurance companies do their best to make sure these errors don't happen since they want to encourage overseas sales!
From what you say, it sounds like an issue on your browser, not necessarily their form. One idea is to not use any of the "special" characters (like ñ or á) since they may be causing the error. I know that the browsers must allow "cookies" in order for the forms to work, so sometimes, if the security setting is very high, they will not work properly (and the error messages are extremely vague and unhelpful). So, you can try a different computer or change your security settings and try again. (Sometimes it will work for people from home but not work, for example).
Finally, if these things do not work, you can try a different policy (different company means a different form) OR use a different browser (for some reason I cannot purchase some policies using Safari, but I can on FireFox). A final option is you can call us and we can help you make your purchase by phone. I realize the last option is not a great one since you are overseas.
This is all I can come up with to solve your problem. Let me know if you are still having issues. Perhaps we can call you if that will help your phone costs, just be sure to tell us what time EST to call you since we don't want to bother you at an inconvenient time.

Hi,
I am trying to purchase the Round Trip Basic plan and want to put my kids name as the beneficiaries. But I do not find a spot to do that. Can you please help?
Thanks,
Dave
Dear Dave,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Round Trip Basic Insurance needs!.
I contacted the Seven Corners company regarding your question and according to that, you should be able to enter one beneficiary name in the application. If not, please email or call them at 1-800-335-0611 after you purchase the plan and the admin will add the beneficiary on your plan.
Please let us know if we can help any further

Hi,
I would like to subscribe a visitor medical insurance for a trip to California next week. I will be travelling with my husband, daughter and my 13 year old niece. I previously wrote an e-mail to American Visitor Insurance who told me I would have to subscribe a separate insurance for my niece but when I go on your website to do it there is a notice that says you need to be at least 14 years old so what should I do ?
Thank You,
Valerie Malingreau
Dear Valerie,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your US visitor health insurance needs!.
Be sure you put your niece as the primary insured and not as a dependent.
There is a special rate for minors alone which should come up. If that does not work, please let us know which policy you are trying to purchase and we can recommend a comparable policy for you.

Hello,
We are Canadians and got an on-line quote from your site but we have a couple of questions before proceeding with purchase. Are there higher deductible choices available, such as $1000? If we purchase three months and find we need to stay in the US longer, up to 180 days, can we purchase additional insurance while we are in the US?
Thank you,
Linda G
Dear Linda,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your visitor health insurance needs!.
You should be able to click on the "Revise" button in the upper or lower right corner of the table you get after you click on "Get Quote" or "Free Quote" and change the deductible to $1000 and check your new results. Fixed plans do not offer high deductibles, but comprehensive plans (which I recommend) do offer higher deductibles which can save you money on the premium.
Do let us know if we can help you further. If you have a question about a specific policy, tell us the name so we can explain it further for you.

Hi,
I just submitted an IMG application for insurance coverage. I received a reply e-mail with links for printing ID cards etc. Is there anything else I need to do or is this policy ready to go?
Please advise,
Thanks
Ann W.
Dear Ann,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your US visitor health insurance needs!.
No. The ID cards are all you need to print out and carry with you. They have all the phone numbers you might need in case you need to reach the insurance company. Note that there is usually a phone number which can be called collect should you be abroad and need to contact them (they are all based in the US although some have offices in Europe as well).

Hi,
I was just wanting some clarification on what is covered in your policy for the Travel Medical plans. I am 59 years of age and will be this age at time of my travel to America from Australia. I am travelling over for a period of 14 days and have a pre-existing medical condition. I suffered a mild stroke on the 05 October 2011 and will be travelling on the 20 September 2012. From reading the policy, my understanding is that I would be covered for up to $15000 in medical expenses if I was to have another stroke while I was over there and that I would be covered for up to $300,000 if I had to be evacuated to my home country due to this stroke. Is this correct?
Thanks
Gerda Oudyn
Dear Gerda,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your US visitor health insurance needs!.
Here is a comparison of the two options in the Travel Medical plans
The Travel Medical Basic plan covers up to $25,000 for acute onset of pre-existing condition up to 69 years.
The Travel Medical Plus plan covers up to $50,000 for acute onset of pre-existing condition for people up to age 69.
For any other medical issue, coverage of medical expenses and evacuation would go up to the maximum selected for the plan.

Hi,
Good morning,
I should visit USA from 01/07/2014 until 03/27/2014 but on 12/18/2013 I should have removed two sebaceous cysts from my scalp.
Can I be insured anyway?
If I come to the States and (hopefully not) I have troubles with some infection in the wound will I be covered?
Kind regards,
Alan Marchesan
Dear Alan,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your visitor health insurance needs!.
This would be considered as a pre existing condition only a life-threatening emergency would be covered. So, if you had a minor infection that needed to be checked, you would have to pay out of pocket for that care and treatment.

Hi,
I'm Martina Barbi. I made the Student Secure insurance with your company on May 12, 2013.
I have printed the card from the on-line certificate I received after the submission.
Is that enough to receive medical service in case I need it or Should I receive a plastic card by mail (If so ,I did not receive anything till now.)....?!?
'Cause on the card I printed from the certificate, there is written ' Possession of this card not guarantee medical coverage'.
Thanks for the attention.
Best regards,
Martina
Dear Martina,
Thank you for contacting us at American Visitor Insurance for your Student Secure Insurance needs!.
The card you printed out is sufficient to use your insurance should you need to. What that notice means is that the provider (doctor/hospital) will have to call the insurance company to confirm your medical insurance coverage. Plastic cards can be faked as well, so this note will still be on those.
