International travel has recovered again with gusto after the Covid pandemic and travel both to the US and outside has increased. Travelers to the US can be Non-US residents or Non-US citizens and US citizens living abroad. International travel is often accompanied by risks of unexpected incidents that can happen during the journey. This can be anything from loss of luggage issues, delay in travel due to flights, or some sickness or injury that demands medical attention.
Incidents like loss of luggage or trip interruption due to delays in flights can happen during the travel, but a medical emergency can happen in the new country where you visit and plan your temporary stay for a few months or few days.
Healthcare in the US is way too expensive. For visitors, it is no less than any nightmare to cover the expense of any unexpected medical treatment in case of hospitalization. Travel insurance is the solution for all these problems that can take care of the medical bills due to unexpected sickness or injury when outside the home country. Travel medical insurance also provides coverage for loss of luggage and trip interruption and many other benefits which bring some ease for the traveler throughout their travel and stay.
There are many international travel medical plans available in the market today. It is up to the traveler to choose the right plan and make the right decision.

The traveler needs to take a closer look at the benefits by looking in the brochure to see the coverage available. Acute onset of a pre-existing condition is available in all three plans, however, check out the table to see the coverage amount clearly for different age groups. Similarly, Co-insurance details and medical maximum details are presented in table for different age groups. Apart from this Covid-19 treatment is available with the "Travel Medical Plus" plan which is not available with the other two plans.
Look at the benefits table closely to see that there are some differences in the benefits available. For instance, the Travel Medical Choice plan provides coverage for Extended Care Facility with URC(Usual Reasonable and Customary) charges up to the medical maximum, whereas Travel Medical Plus and the Basic plans provides coverage for Home HealthCare with URC up to medical maximum.
All the plans provide coverage for many more services like Local Ambulance, Prescription drugs, Urgent Care visits, Physician visits, Dental ...apart from the ones mentioned above which is in detail in the brochures of each plan.
Remember that the Travel Medical Basic and the Plus plans provide worldwide coverage including or excluding the US, whereas the Travel Medical Choice plan provides coverage only excluding the US.
Among the three, the Travel Medical PLUS plan has higher coverage and extra benefits for people traveling worldwide. It is highly important for the travelers to keep their requirements in mind and choose the right plan that suits individual requirements
